Fanola Review

I wanted to do a part 2 of my hair maintenance post I did a while back, because I have been using only Fanola products all month. To be completely honest I was a little nervous. Reason being is I don’t shampoo my hair that often. I'm more of an oil my scalp and condition my hair every couple days type of person. Every other week I would use the Fanola No Yellow Shampoo and that was it.

Right before Christmas the Fanola team sent me several products to use. (You can buy directly from Fanola or Salon Guys & I linked all the products throughout the post!)

They sent me:

The (vegan) No Yellow shampoo and hair mask

The (vegan) No Orange shampoo and mask.

The Curly & Wavy Hair mask.

The Bi-Phase Oro Puro Illuminating Conditioner.

And the Diamante Puro Regenerating Fluid.

Now that I'm only using the Fanola products I can really see the results. I have always used the No Yellow shampoo but incorporating the mask is a game changer! After I shampoo I put the mask on and let it sit for about 10 minutes. I will say as the mask is sitting on my hair it feels dry kind of like a clay, BUT when I rinse my hair it's as if I rinsed out a conditioner. Not to mention my curls POP! Because the mask is also meant to ultimately tone out certain colors I didn’t expect it to be so nourishing. Random fact I do use both masks at the same time, because the bottom of my hair is a different shade from the top. So, I use the No Orange mask on the bottom half and the No Yellow on top.

So, let me break down the difference between the No Yellow and No Orange shampoos and masks.

The Vegan No Yellow Shampoo is meant for those with blonde highlights, greys, and bleached hair. It is purple and very pigmented. I suggest using gloves when using these products because they will stain your hands. The No Yellow name is the prefect description of the product. It eliminates all yellow tones from your hair to keep your color as vibrant as it was when you first got it done. One thing I have learned over the years from coloring my hair is that the color will tone down and the amount of water I put on my hair and product, over time it can alter the color of your hair.

The No Orange Blue Shampoo is more so for the darker blondes (dirty blonde), caramel tones , but can also benefit the platinum ash-grey blondes. This one is a very pigmented blue product. It eliminates the orange/red tones and the copper looking colors that may appear over time.

The two masks (No Yellow & No Orange) can be used multiple times a week. They are good to follow up after you shampoo. It really attacks the yellows and unwanted hues while conditioning your hair. In more or less it’s a conditioning toner. It detangles your hair while protecting/correcting your color.

The Curly & Wavy Hair Mask I use when I have intentions on wearing my hair natural. After I shampoo I add a generous amount on my hair and then I steam for about 20 minutes. The desired amount is 5-10 minutes, but I always sit with it a little longer. This mask is definitely good for dry hair. It contains silk proteins and coconut oil, and it that really enhances my curls. So it's one of my new go-to masks.

The Bi-Phase Oro Puro Illuminating Conditioner is a 24k spray. It has Argan oil to nourish your hair and eliminate frizz. It also has gold ingredients to brighten your hair. I have only used this twice. Once with my hair curly and the other straight. I like it more with my hair straight because I blow dried the product into my hair then straightened it and it felt better. When I used it with my curls my hair felt a little dryer than usual. So I’m still trying to figure this product out.

Lastly, The Diamante Puro Regenerating Fluid I haven't used this product yet so I'm not sure how it performs. It has Argan oil and Cypress oil. Aside of making your hair shine, what I like about it most is that it says it protects your hair from the sun and air pollution. For example, LA has a horrible smog issue. It's air pollution in a fog so it can definitely affect your skin and hair so this great. And I can’t wait to test it out!

If your looking to really take care of your color I strongly suggest trying out these products.
