Talk It Out!

Ever just wake up in a bad mood. Like pissed at the world, or it feels like you have a dark cloud hovering over you. I was always told that you aren't supposed to go to bed angry, but what do you do when you wake up angry, or just feeling some type of way?

Last Monday I had a small internal episode so I stayed in my room and tried to forced myself to be in a better mood. I gave myself multiple pep talks (in my mind) and it didn't work. So I started journaling my feelings and why I was possibly feeling the way I was. Still didn’t help. Then I text my friend Erika the most dramatic text, and as I was waiting on her to respond I started writing, "What to do when you are in a dark space". As I started jotting things down, speaking positivity and listening to my favorite praise & worship music stood out most to me. Then Erika text me back and said, "Death & life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit." Proverbs 18:21.  #confirmation (you should know by now I take any confirmation I can get whether big or small). Erika then proceeds to send me one of the sermons from Elevation Church called “Praizy Faith”, which was #confirmation2.

I kept thinking to myself, was this a teaching moment from God?

As I was listening to the sermon (which I linked above) I jotted down a few things.

  1. Whatever is harboring on the inside of you will eventually be released. Whether it's doubt, negativity and so on. So fill yourself will positive words, so when you get pressured only positivity will flow from you.

  2. The lower you feel, the louder you need to get. (I AM statements are the best, ex. I AM blessed, I AM living in my purpose, I AM happy, etc.) God does 2 things: he reacts, and allows. If you speak negativity he will allow it, if you speak positivity he will react and meet you.

  3. Make sure you have the right company around you. (Your friends need strong faith too.) I was going through it the other day, and if it wasn't for Erika, I'm not sure how my day would've turned out. And throughout the week my other friends Alysee & Hope even chimed in.

So next time you find yourself in a funk, try stating some positivity (out loud), and praise your way through it. It really does help. You owe it to yourself to fight for your peace. You also have to remember you are a light in this world, and people are depending on you whether you realize it or not.

See you next time, Paige!
