30 Days of Class Pass

New Years Resolution Update! This last week of February is all about fitness #boring I know! But I wanted to talk about all of my Class Pass adventures with y’all. In January Alysee and I did the Class Pass 30 day trial and it was what we expected but it also wasn’t. I wasn’t expecting the wide range of self care to be available on the app. It wasn't just limited to fitness, they had salons, spas, rehabilitation centers as well as acupuncture! So to say we had options is an understatement. When you do the trial you get 30 credits. Each class you sign up for is minimum 2 credits, and it goes up depending on the the type of experience. We did five classes. We went back and forth from exercise and fun activities. (I would have added the videos from the classes but they are choppy and random since the instructors were taking them. I’ll add them on social for you though!)

The first studio we visited was Sandbox Fitness in Sherman Oaks. The class was tidal turbulence. The class was 7 credits (practically all our credits!). It was a full body workout that we were not expecting. Because all of their workouts are in a sandbox you are engaging every muscle in your body. Then you hop onto a surfboard and do other exercises all while trying to balance. It was a combination of TRX, surfset, and tidal turbulence. It was so much fun and luckily we were the only two in the class so we had more help with the exercises.

The second studio was Phitosophy in Burbank. We took the reformer pilates class, and it was 2 credits. We have done pilates before but each time we visit a studio the class is completely different. So with pilates you never really know what to expect. The reason I like pilates so much is because it’s a form of rehab for my knee (from when I messed it up years back) along with getting a great lower body workout. And it helps with your posture!

The third class was an experience to say the least. We went to Up Flying Yoga and did aerial yoga. This class was 9 credits. I love yoga, but this was next level! I will say when you go to this class drink lots of water and after drink a ginger-ale! Hanging around upside down is all fun and games until you sit up and your dizzy and suddenly nauseous. Essentially it is like a normal yoga class with stretching and yoga poses except you are in an aerial hammock. This class focusses on flexibility, strength and core.

Class four was at Bar Method in Studio City. It was 8 credits. If you have done barre then you know what to expect. It’s a total body workout during the warmup but after that its straight lower body focussing on your legs and ending in abdominal work. My favorite thing about barre is you stretch whatever part of your body you were just working after each rep. My favorite thing about this studio was the playlist! It was Beyonce and Jay-Z and I vibed out the whole class, which is great because I felt like my legs were going to collapse halfway through the class.

The last class we went to was at Crunch Fitness. The class was called Ass & Abs and it was 4 credits. This class was completely tailored to your abs and ass, and it was equally hard as it was fun. If it wasn’t for the instructor I definitely would not have enjoyed the class. Im one of those people that likes to do group workouts so Im not struggling by myself, but I also need somebody yelling at me while I’m doing it.

So as you can see the differences in credits per class is because some of the classes were based off an experience. If you are considering Class Pass I would definitely look through the app and check out all the classes. I definitely suggest trying some of the fun classes as well. I enjoyed Class Pass because I was able to try out different studios that are in my area that I didn’t know about.
