At Home Facial

Happy Wednesday!

So on my last post I briefly spoke about the spa day I attended for a friends birthday. During my facial the esthetician was telling me I should come back every couple weeks and as amazing as a facial every other week sounded, I knew it wasn’t cost effective for me.

So Instead of asking what products to use, I asked for the ingredients, and I cross referenced them with the products I already have. Some of the ingredients are: Argan Oil, Caffeine, Clay, Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, and Vitamin C. The only product I'm having a difficult time finding is Vitamin C. So until I find a good product I am going to take it as a supplement.

A couple weeks ago I bought a facial steamer on Amazon and lets just say… Im obsessed! I plan to use it three times a week (for a month) for 15 minutes, then only twice a week going forward. The steamer I bought is the, Facial Steamer Spa by Microderm Glo. It's currently $35.99 on Amazon. The purpose of a steamer is to open up your pores, so you can cleanse your skin more effectively. And as a bonus it also promotes circulation.

Here is what my at home facial consists of: (it still needs a little tweaking but it’s working so far!)

  1. Wash face (I use the Murad cleanser)

  2. Steam for 15 minutes

  3. Rinse face with cold water

  4. (2 options) face mask for 10 minutes, or face cream mixed with a serum

  5. Moisturize

Here is a list of all the products I use which can be sampled/bought at Sephora (there linked as well!) My Argan Oil product is Josie Maran, Light Argan Oil. Caffeine product is the Drunk Elephant, B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum & Origins Matte Moisturizer with Willowherb. Clay product Origins, Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay. Collagen is from Physicians Choice, Collagen Peptides use my code (PAIC20) at your check out! Hyaluronic Acid product Murad, Time Release Acne Cleanser & Clinique’s Clarifying Lotion 2 which I use as a toner.

I hope this is helpful to everyone looking to upgrade their skin care routine!
